New restaurant, new signs on Broad Street in Birmingham

Located just a stone’s throw away from CineWorld on Fiveways in Birmingham, must be a choice location for restaurant owners. That’s now even more the case following a signage makeover by Hardy Signs for Italian restaurant, Del Villaggio that has moved from the Bull Ring..

However though it might be a hotspot for diners, it is vital that your customers can see and know all about you. That was part of the brief for the Hardy Signs team led by Adam Bates, when they started this project. Unlike other projects, window space was not at a premium. There were significant opportunities to maximise the use of an updated logo and new graphics. By opening up a new entrance and providing a full wide frontage of some xxm, Hardy Signs were able to bring their full signage expertise to bear and introduce some classic signs for the restaurant, with several neat twists that are all effective within the new designs.

Firstly, the existing fascia was removed and replaced with a circular projecting light box of 1m diameter complete with LED lighting for the flexible faced and interchangeable signs. Flexible facing rather than acrylic signs on both sides were used on the exposed exterior location. On the pavement facing frontage of the attractive restaurant, Hardy Signs designed and installed a 2.4m by 1.8m custom-built aluminium light-box with a fret cut face and pushed-through 3D acrylic letters that effectively creates a visual illusion of raised lettering presenting the restaurant’s name in a truly stunning format.

“To complement the new signage, we applied printed Contravision film to both sides of the new entrance”, pointed out Adam Bates. “These ‘panels’ carry Del Villaggio’s contact details and its links on Social Media”. Across the new exterior of the restaurant large full colour PVC printed vinyl banners have been added to complete a complete package of signage. These offer the restaurant the opportunity to present promotional messages to its regular as well as new customers.

“To complete the new signage Hardy Signs added an LED illuminated menu light-box”, said Del Villaggio’s Simon Bishop, “These boxes are extremely effective and easy to use. We can place revised menus in them quickly and also display any special offers or promotions” All of Hardy Signs signage at the restaurant has been supported by a new attractive web site launched by the eatery and featuring its eye-catching logo.
